YAMs Dinner with Speaker

Greetings friends,

On Thursday, February 19, at 6 p.m., the YAMs will gather in the “Yo” Room for a meal and remarks from Booker T. Scruggs. Mr. Scruggs will dialog with us about a film on the 1960s civil rights movement in Chattanooga (which will be shown) as well as the movement itself. Mr. Scruggs was among a group of Howard High School students who staged sit-ins as well as playing other leadership roles in the movement. The film was made by the Chattanooga Regional History Museum and ties in perfectly with African-American History Month. The film focuses on the Civil Rights movement in Chattanooga and its active participants, such as Mr. Scruggs and former St. Paul’s Rector, the Rev. Dr. John Bonner - so it ties nicely to St. Paul's, as well. Child care will be provided, and the cost is $6 and is payapble by check or cash at the door. (Please do not let the cost be a limiting factor.) Please RSVP (to leopold@stpaulschatt.org or to the evite page) by February 16th. Check out the pics here.

I do hope that everyone will be able to make it.

Yours in Christ,
Bob

P.S. I also put this event into the evite format. It can be seen here.

P.P.S. More info on Booker T. Scruggs can be found here.
